He lived with Honour in Italy for most of his life, and died in 2001.

Hugh Honour was a British art historian. He was elected in 1972 as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature due to his fruitful career as a writer, often working with his life partner, John Fleming. He died in 2016.

Sir Nikolaus Pevsner was a German and British scholar of the history of architecture. A dedicated cataloger of the architecture of Britain, he was a founding member of the Victorian Society and a fellow of the British Academy, as well as the recipient of a CBE and a knighthood. He died in 1983.GB
