Glossary of Terms
Every time we turn around, energy prices have moved, often dramatically. As I am finishing this book, we have just seen the highest gasoline and crude oil prices ever. The economy is growing today. But, ultimately, an improving economy could push the prices for energy so high that they cripple or maim the growth that caused them in the first place. Since the 1970’s, energy prices have had a very direct impact on the American economy. We have to expect that to be the case, at least to some degree, as we move forward.
I have written this book in the hope that it can help educate a new generation of business people who have discovered, to their great horror, that changing energy costs can have a gargantuan effect upon their companies’ bottom lines. Even if you never intend to hedge, you should be aware of the elements that can affect your bottom line.
