ZHU HUA is Senior Lecturer in Applied Linguistics at Birkbeck, University of London, UK. She is the author of Phonological Development in Specific Contexts, joint author of , and co-editor, with Barbara Dodd, of Phonological Development Disorders in Children: A Multilingual Perspective.PAUL SEEDHOUSE is Reader in Applied Linguistics at the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK. His book The Interactional Architecture of the Language Classroom won the 2005 Kenneth Mildenberger Prize of the MLA. He has also co-edited, with Keith Richards, Applying Conversational Analysis.
LI WEI is Professor of Applied Linguistics at Birkbeck, University of London, UK. He is the author of Three Generations, Two Languages, One Family and among his many edited or co-edited books are: The Bilingualism Reader, Opportunities and Challenges of Bilingualism, Bilingualism: Beyond the Basic Principles, and The Handbook of Applied Linguistics, Volume 5 ‘Multilingualism and Multilingual Communication’. He is also Editor-in-Chief of The International Journal of Bilingualism.
VIVIAN COOK is Professor of Applied Linguistics at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. He is mostly known for his work developing the idea of multicompetence and for his books on Chomsky and applications of second language research to language teaching. His most recent books include Accomodating Brocolli in the Cemetary: Or Why Can’t Anybody Spell? and Second Language Writing Systems.
