IT IS THE SEEING is a book of poetry written by Mississippi-born, Black lesbian author, Renita Martin. The book is a commentary on the mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual traumas and joys experienced through the eyes of the many characters she paints. “It Is The Seeing” is a book of poetry written by Mississippi-born, Black lesbian author, Renita Martin. The book is a meditation of emotional and spiritual evolution. Critically acclaimed storyteller, Renita Martin’s works have appeared in the New York Times, the Boston Globe, and on Good Morning America. She has over 30 years of experience on screen and stage, most well-known for her one-woman shows! She has authored several plays, poems, anthologies, articles, and children’s educational materials. She is the author of two other books, “Shotgun Wedding” and “Rhythm Visions Never Do Be Finished”.
