“Eyes of Discernment” is an action packed span of 25 years taken from a past life adventure story of John, the subject character. John finds out that he possesses a special gift, the ability to gaze into someone’s eyes and know their intention. He sets out on a mission as a young man, to learn how he might use his gift to enrich the lives of others. This mission evolves into a whirlwind adventure of 25 years. During these years John experiences, the best and the worst of what life can offer as he learns and matures. The setting of this story is long ago although the year is not clear it is irrelevant to the emotions, desires, and lessons derived that are timeless. All of John’s failures, achievements, pleasures, and disappointments are easily transferable to our lives and culminate into a rewarding surprise conclusion.
The reader will experience the growth and maturity of a young man as he sets out on a mission of which there is doubt and a lack of clarity in expectation. During this journey the reader will relive John’s, encounters as he experiences tender moments of love, lurid sexual rendezvous, and the harsh realities of violence and betrayal. He will undergo periods of depravity, and periods of stability and admiration, from the lowest lows to the highest highs. As the years pass and John’s character develops the reader will enjoy the rollercoaster of life’s adventure. Needed for character development, the story does have some portions of intense sexual encounter and some sections of graphically violent battel that are best suited for an adult reader. Mike has had a long career in Manufacturing Management and as a Management Consultant. During those years Mike has been published in a verity of professional publications and has been a featured speaker at numerous professional conferences, Over his lifetime Mike has always had a strong interest in spiritualism and the relation between our own spiritual nature and how it influences our lives. The main character of this book was first reveled to Mike by the spirit guide of one of Mike’s friends, Pat. Later while floating in a sensory deprivation tank the character began to unfold. This is Mike’s first novel.
Mike is a native of CT and now resides in NC where he shares a house on the lake with his faithful dog Ginger.
