Marina Spicer is stuck. The two must test out date ideas together, each writing their own pitch after, the winner walking away with the promotion Marina feels she’s already earned. But the charming ne’er-do-well Lucas is the last person who Type-A, hyperfocused Marina wants to compete with…or even spend time with!

As Marina and Lucas butt heads mixing cocktails, going dancing, and throwing axes, Marina finds herself sharper and wittier with Lucas than without him despite him checking every box on Marina’s list of dealbreakers.
