She has taught at the university level and been in private practice for more than 15 years, specializing in issues related to transitional developmental periods of life, including midlife and death and dying, as well as the relationship between spirituality and psychology. Throughout her career she has conducted hundreds of professional workshops, seminars, and training programs on these and other subjects. She is especially interested in bringing academic and scholarly information to the general public.Brehony has published extensively in professional journals and books. She is coeditor of Marketing Health Behaviors (Plenum, 1984) and Boston Marriages (The University of Massachusetts Press, 1993).
